Paul Leuma and Val Nove were incredible at unpacking all of my things. They were very professional and they worked with speed and great attention to detail. When unpacking if they thought anything was not as it should have been they pointed it out and had me take photos to use for later. 10/10... would work with these individuals again!read more

Paul, Nehemiah, Moe, handled the pack out for my PCS from Washington. They came in and carefully packed my whole apartment out. They were efficient and got things packed and loaded quickly. They also worked with me to help resolve some issues getting some large furniture out of my apartment. Highly... recommend. They were nothing but professional.read more

Tacoma Moving Process Outlined

Depending on the kind of move you need, the process can change a lot. In general, most moving jobs follow three phases:

Step One: Schedule an estimate – Give our offices a call at (800) 426-4780 to kick-off your move! We will work with you to arrange a visit from a move estimator.

Step Two: Review your Order of Service – This document will track all of the services you need to complete your move along with prices for each service.

Step Three: The day of your move:

  • No matter the service you need, our movers will arrive on your moving day ahead of when your move is scheduled to start.
  • Any items our movers touch will be logged in a document called a “bill of lading” which also acts as your moves inventory
  • When your move is completed, our team will give you a copy of the bill of lading and your order of service. Take your time reviewing both documents and give us a call if you have questions or concerns.

How to Find the Best Movers in Tacoma

There are plenty of options to choose from when you’re looking for a moving company or even if you’re doing it yourself.

If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should hire a moving company for your job, here are a few of the features of the best moving companies, and some of the key advantages hiring a moving company might have for you.

License and Insurance: Trusted moving companies must be licensed by the states they operate in and must cover customers who move with them with insurance. If you move items on your own and break or lose something there’s no way to get that value back.

Online Reviews and Partnerships: You can always learn a lot about a moving company’s history by looking at their reviews online. But one other thing you may want to check is if they have partnerships or endorsements from organizations like the American Trucking Association. If you have a lot of property or a lot of valuables, it’s always wise to trust handling them to endorsed professionals.

Equipment and Warehousing: Moving companies bring heavy duty equipment to your move that you may not have access to or be able to afford. That heavy gun safe in your basement? Your moving company will be able to remove it easily without scratching your floor or walls.

Local Attractions: If you love the outdoors, there’s plenty to explore at the Point of Defiance Park. The park also has a zoo and aquarium! More interested in the arts? Check out the Museum of Glass, and take part in a live glassblowing demonstration.

Food and Night Life: Tacoma’s history as a transportation hub has attracted people from all around the world including Korea, Lebanon and Italy, something you can see in the wide range of restaurants available in the city. Looking for something different? Take a look at this list of the top 10 most unique restaurants near Tacoma from Yelp.

Housing Market: According to Zillow, the average home value in 2026 is $478,988, which is down 1.1% from 2025. The average home cost has increased by a lot over the course of the last 10 years and it continues to rise.

Cost of Living: Payscale reports the cost of living in Tacoma is about 23% higher than the national average. Housing is much higher than the national average while utilities are actually slightly lower than the rest of the country.

Yes, at our Tacoma location we have a climate controlled warehouse with 30,000 sq ft of space for storage. Our warehouses are pest-controlled, flood-controlled and under 24/7 surveillance. We also have warehouses in Kent and Everett.

We offer three kinds of coverage for your move.

Released Value Coverage: Basic protection that comes with every move. Your mover is responsible for covering you for 60 cents per pound per article

Full Value Protection: Requires an extra fee. If something is lost or damaged, the company will repair, replace, or reimburse you for the item’s current market value.

Items of Extraordinary Value Declaration: If you have items worth $100 or more per pound, you need to tell the movers before the move. They’ll give you a special form to list these valuable items.

The best times to move are during the winter and spring when moving company schedules are at their lowest. The peak time for moving is the summer and it can be much more difficult to schedule movers during this time.

Booking 4-6 weeks in advance is generally recommended for local moves, while long-distance moves should be scheduled 8-12 weeks ahead.
