Paul, Nehemiah, Moe, handled the pack out for my PCS from Washington. They came in and carefully packed my whole apartment out. They were efficient and got things packed and loaded quickly. They also worked with me to help resolve some issues getting some large furniture out of my apartment. Highly... recommend. They were nothing but professional.read more

“Make sure all items that you don't want handled by movers are separated by themselves i.e. medication you might need, important paperwork or documents etc.”

Our Local Moving Process

We’ve been serving customers like you since 1914, and if you’re moving into or out of an apartment, condominium or home, there’s no more experienced team to trust with your job.

We complete your move in three simple steps

Step one: Get a detailed estimate – Call our offices at (800) 426-4780 to start the estimate process! Schedule a visit from a move estimator today.

Step two: Receive an Order of Service – Your order of service maps out all of the services you have selected for your move and the costs associated with them.

Step three: Moving Day!

  • Your movers will arrive early and ready to work! If you choose packing services, careful packing and loading is the first thing your movers will work on.
  • From start to finish, your movers will log every item they move on an inventory called a “bill of lading”
  • Once your move is complete, your mover will give you the bill of lading along with your order of service, marking your move as complete

Why Movers Love Seattle

Did you know Seattle ranks third for the share of residents who lived in another state or country 12 months earlier? Here are some of the reasons why so many people are excited to move to the Emerald City!

  • Unique culture and attractions: Home of the Historic Museum of of Pop Culture, the scenic Space Needle and the bustling Pika Place Market
  • Living costs: The cost of living in Seattle is 45% higher than the national average, but areas like Bitter Lake, Olympic Hills, and Delridge feature rental costs lower than the city average
  • Job market: Seattle is a tech hub home to massive data centers like the Sabey Data Centers (SDC) and Databank. Software engineers, data scientists and technical writers are in demand

Lincoln Moving and Storage has called Seattle our home for over 100 years! There’s no other mover in the state of Washington who is better equipped to help you with navigating with this incredible city.

FAQ

Angi.com reports a normal range is between $1,022 – $2,510.

At Lincoln Moving and Storage, we believe in transparent pricing. We provide detailed estimates based on a thorough survey of your belongings, ensuring you know exactly what to expect.

There are three main factors that decide the total cost of your move:

  • Level of service (Packing, number of hands needed, warehouse storage)
  • The time it takes to complete your move
  • Amount of property you need to be moved

Time is often the most costly of these three factors, which is why one of the best ways to make your move more affordable is by organizing and packing your home before your movers arrive.

The two things to look for are online reviews and the status of their license and insurance. Not all moving companies you find online will actually be licensed and insured. You can verify their license and insurance status by looking them up on the FMCSA website.

Be careful of moving companies that are doing jobs without proper licensing. If property of yours is lost, stolen or broken you may not be able to get your items back or have that value returned to you.

You do not need to tip your moving team, but if you do it is appreciated. We pay our movers for the time they spend on your job.

If you would like to do something to show your movers your appreciation for a job well done, you could instead leave a review and mention the names of the movers who made your job a great experience.

While it depends on the size of your job, most local moves can be completed within 24 hours. The factors that can increase the time it takes to complete your move are:

  • Season – summer is the most busy time for moves. Moving during the winter or early spring will make scheduling much easier and jobs faster
  • The amount of property you need to move. More boxes generally means more time
  • Your building. If movers need to climb stairs or use an elevator, your move can take slightly longer to complete

The General Manager of our Tacoma and Kent locations, and a moving industry veteran with 28 years of experience, Tony Bouie adds “Here at Lincoln Moving and Storage, we know life can be unpredictable. That’s why we offer emergency moving services to help you with short notice.”

Yes, when you move with Lincoln Moving and Storage your property is automatically protected under “Limited Liability Coverage” for no extra cost. The FMCSA adds, “Under this option, the mover is responsible for no more than 60 cents per pound per article.”

There are two other forms of protection you can purchase being “Full Value Protection,” which ensures your mover will repair or replace any items damaged during your move, and “Items of Extraordinary Value,” which covers single items with a value of $100 or more.
