Our Everett Military Moving Process

We’ve been serving members of our armed forces since 1914, and if you’re moving into or out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Naval Base Kitsap, Naval Station Everett or Fairchild Air Force Base, there’s no more experienced team to trust with your job.

We complete your move in three simple steps

Step one: Get a detailed estimate – Call our offices at (800) 426-4780 to start the estimate process! Schedule a visit from a move estimator today.

Step two: Receive an Order of Service – Your order of service maps out all of the services you have selected for your move and the costs associated with them.

Step three: Moving Day!

  • Your movers will arrive early and ready to work! We will record the totally weight of your move and keep a record for you.
  • From start to finish, your movers will log every item they move on an inventory called a “bill of lading”
  • Once your move is complete, your mover will give you the bill of lading along with your order of service, marking your move as complete

The Military and Air Force Bases of Seattle

Moving into a local base? Here’s a few facts about some of the facilities local to Seattle:

Joint Base Lewis-McChord: The largest military installation in the Pacific Northwest. It spans over 400,000 acres and is home to over 40,000 service members. It’s very close to the Cascade Mountains, a popular location for hikes and skiing.

Naval Base Kitsap: This is the third largest US Navy installation in the country. It’s almost like a small city, featuring amenities like child care and even a skate park. Over 40,000 service members and civilians call it home.

Naval Station Everett: Around 6,000 sailors and civil servants are assigned to this location. It is considered one of the most environmentally friendly stations, receiving the Navy Pollution Prevention Award.

FAQ

There are four main factors that decide the cost of your move, or really, how much you can be reimbursed by the government for your relocation:

  • Rank
  • Weight of your house household goods
  • Distance
  • Family size

Some additional costs some movers don’t always think about may include first month security deposits and utility connection fees.

Make sure you’ve saved all of the receipts, weight tickets and your DD Form 1351-2 as you will need to turn these records into the Defense Personal Property System or your branches specified portal to begin the reimbursement process.

If you have any questions, be sure to reach out to your local transportation office. They will be the best equipped to answer specific questions about the moving process and reimbursement.

You do not need to tip your moving team, but if you do it is appreciated. We pay our movers for the time they spend on your job.

If you would like to do something to show your movers your appreciation for a job well done, you could instead leave a review and mention the names of the movers who made your job a great experience.
