This was one of the smoothest moves we’ve had in recent years. We’ve moved multiple times—both within the state and internationally—and the team did everything possible to be accommodating. From scheduling the move to conducting the virtual walkthrough, everything was well-organized. The walkthrough helped prepare the moving crew to arrive with the right boxes for our items. On packing day, the team arrived 30 minutes late but called ahead to let us know they were running behind. This was very thoughtful, especially since we had young kids to drop off at school.Sergio, the team lead, is a veteran with experience in multiple military moves. He was not only efficient in packing and tracking our items but also understood the stress that comes with PCS moves. He ensured we knew exactly where our “parts box” was packed—something we hadn’t known to look for in previous moves. During our last move, it took days to locate all the different furniture parts. Sergio even sent me a few pictures of the disassembled furniture to make reassembly easier at our destination. He truly made packing look effortless.Elena was exceptional. She walked us through what could and couldn’t be included in the shipment. We sorted out restricted items before starting, which made expectations very clear. As a former military spouse, she also shared some helpful tips that my wife really appreciated. She was a great complement to the team.Paco, one of the support staff, had boundless energy. He was very careful with everything he packed. Even when he made a mistake, he was quick to apologize and remained cheerful throughout. The crew cleaned up all the packing materials, which saved us the hassle of disposing of a large amount of recyclables. They also communicated the next steps clearly, which was incredibly helpful, especially while juggling the needs of our children and preparing for our next assignment. One point of disappointment was with the crew that packed our UAB. They arrived very late (around 7 p.m.), were clearly exhausted, and rushed through the process. I worry that the boxes may not have been packed securely and could fall apart in transit. I would have removed a star for this, but the HHG packing team more than made up for it with their exceptional service and even apologized for the tardiness and rushed work of the UAB crew.Overall, the movers were highly efficient and knowledgeable about military moves. I look forward to seeing the condition of our shipment upon arrival, especially the UAB.

We simply had an amazing experience with Lincoln Moving and Storage. They were very communicative leading up to, on, and after moving day and were extremely friendly and courteous throughout the whole process. This move has been stressful on our family, but the actual moving day was simple and we felt at ease with Sergio, Elena, and their team taking care of us. They were even scheduled to pack and move on separate days but finished it all in one! Would recommend to anyone/everyone!

Your Moving Process: A Complete Guide

  1. Request a Detailed Estimate: The first step of your move is requesting a detailed estimate, so a moving expert can survey your items and provide you with an accurate cost estimate.
  2. Moving Coordinator Assignment: After you approve the estimate, Lincoln assigns you a personal moving coordinator who will guide you through your entire move.
  3. Receive Your Order of Service: Lincoln provides an Order of Service that lists all the services you’ve chosen, how much they cost, and when they’ll happen.
  4. Moving Day: On your moving day, skilled movers will carefully pack your things, load them onto the truck, drive them to your new home, and unload them.
  5. Bill of Lading Issuance: Lincoln provides you with a Bill of Lading that serves as an inventory of all items loaded on the truck, so you can reference it later to make sure everything arrives safely.
  6. Delivery at Your New Home: Lincoln Moving & Storage brings all your belongings to your new home or office on the day promised.
  7. Final Condition Review: You’ll complete a walk-through of your new space to make sure everything arrived safely and intact. Then, you’ll sign off on the Bill of Lading to officially complete your move.

Helpful Moving Tips For A Smoother Move

  1. Start Packing Early
Begin packing at least a month before your move date. Start with items you rarely use, like seasonal decorations, books, and spare room contents.
  2. Create a Moving Folder
Keep all your moving paperwork in one place – estimates, receipts, and your inventory list. This helps you stay organized when you need to find something quickly.
  3. Label Boxes Clearly
Write the room name and main contents on each box. Consider using different colored labels for each room to make unpacking easier.
  4. Pack a First-Day Box
Pack essential items you’ll need right away in a separate box: toiletries, medications, phone chargers, basic tools, and a change of clothes, so they are easy to access.
  5. Take Photos of Electronics
Before disconnecting TVs, computers, or sound systems, take pictures of how the wires are connected. This makes setting them up in your new home much easier.
  6. Use Your Luggage
Fill suitcases with heavy items like books. The wheels make them easier to move than boxes.
  7. Protect Fragile Items
Wrap breakable items in clothing or towels instead of buying bubble wrap. This protects your items and saves packing space.
  8. Update Your Address
About two weeks before moving, make a list of places to notify about your address change: banks, credit cards, subscription services, and government offices.

Many moving companies in Seattle offer both local and long-distance moving services to accommodate the diverse needs of their customers. This Forbes article explains, “A local move is one that generally stays within a radius of 50 miles—a move that extends beyond that distance would be considered a long-distance move, even if it’s still within the same state.” Whether you’re moving within the city or to a new state, it’s important to choose a company with the experience and resources to handle your move. Selecting the right moving company ensures that your belongings are in safe hands and that your move proceeds smoothly.

Lincoln Moving and Storage specializes in local, long-distance, nationwide, and international moves, ensuring a seamless experience regardless of the distance. Yes, many moving companies in Seattle provide packing materials and services to help streamline your move. These services provide boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and help with packing to make sure your items are safe for moving. If you are packing yourself, Architectural Digest recommends “to start packing for a move around six weeks before moving day. This will give you plenty of time to sort and declutter, create a plan, and gather essential supplies.” Starting packing early helps you organize your belongings well and avoids a rush right before moving day. You will save time and be able to pay attention to other parts of your move.

Lincoln Moving and Storage offers comprehensive packing and crating services, utilizing professional-grade materials to protect your items. “We take the stress out of packing by providing everything needed to secure your belongings, no matter the distance they need to travel,” comments our owner Chris DiJulio. Lincoln Moving and Storage offers both full packing services and materials for DIY packing, ensuring all your needs are met.

span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Moving companies in Seattle often offer storage solutions, catering to customers who need to temporarily store their belongings because of delayed home closings or other challenges. These services can include:

  • Warehouse Storage
  • Short-term Storage
  • Long-term Storage
  • 24/7 Surveillance of Storage
  • Climate-Controlled Facilities

This U.S. News article explains, “Climate-controlled storage units can offer myriad advantages for certain types of belongings.” To ensure that certain items remain in pristine condition, they must be kept away from humidity or drastic temperature changes. If you require climate control, ensure your moving company provides it before you store your items with them, as not all storage facilities offer that option.

Lincoln Moving and Storage provides convenient and secure storage services for those in-between moments. “We understand that timing doesn’t always line up perfectly, which is why we offer flexible storage solutions to keep your items safe until you’re ready for them,” explains our owner Chris DiJulio. Lincoln Moving and Storage designed its storage options to provide peace of mind during your transition. Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art security systems, ensuring that your belongings are protected around the clock. This commitment to security complements our comprehensive moving and storage solutions, making your move as seamless and worry-free as possible.

A reputable Seattle moving company should hold the proper licenses and insurance to operate legally and protect their customers’ belongings. Movers.com affirms, “Your budget isn’t the only thing you should consider when hiring a mover. You should find a company that holds the proper license to operate in your state and complies with all necessary federal moving regulations.” This includes a USDOT number for interstate moves and adherence to state regulations for local moves. To gather more information about a moving company, you can use the Federal Mover’s Database to look up their USDOT license. Additionally, insurance options like Full Value Protection ensure that your items are covered in case of damage or loss.

Lincoln Moving and Storage is fully licensed and insured, holding:

  • a USDOT license (#153161)
  • a Washington State license (WUTC License #2278)
  • a Motor Carrier (MC) license (#339).

We ensure compliance with all required regulations for our services in Seattle, the Puget Sound Area, and its surrounding regions. “We prioritize our customer’s peace of mind by maintaining all necessary licenses and offering comprehensive insurance options,” states our owner Chris DiJulio. With Lincoln Moving and Storage, you can rest assured that your move is in good hands.

Customer reviews are an important resource when evaluating a moving company’s credibility. Positive reviews often highlight reliability, professionalism, and quality of service, while negative reviews can reveal areas of concern. MyMovingReviews.com mentions, “Honest customer testimonials can help people who plan to move to a new home avoid dishonest movers.” A consistent track record of satisfied customers is a great indicator of a company’s reputation and performance. Reading through these reviews can give you a clearer insight into what you can expect from your moving experience, ensuring you make an informed decision when choosing a moving company.

Lincoln Moving and Storage values the feedback from our customers, using it to always improve our services. “We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built over the years, reflected in the positive reviews from our customers,” says our owner Chris DiJulio. Lincoln Moving and Storage’s commitment to excellence is evident in the glowing reviews from those who have experienced their service firsthand. Established in 1914 by the DiJulio Family, Lincoln Moving & Storage has grown through a steadfast commitment to customer service and satisfaction. With a history of serving the Pacific Northwest, the company now offers a full range of transportation and moving services across Washington, California, and New Mexico. It maintains its growth philosophy through dedication to its customers.
